Inception

The STRATEGIECS Think Tank was established in the Jordanian capital of Amman in September 2018. It is a platform specializing in developing research and studies on political, security and economic issues. Established as a response to the Middle East’s need for advanced and enlightened intellectual centers that provide an extensive and deep understanding of the multiple and complex challenges plaguing the region and the world, STRATEIGICS assesses emerging and changing phenomena, explains the transformations of interaction and actors in regional and global contexts, and provides forward-looking visions that contribute to the improvement of decision-making processes in a turbulent world.

Vision

By adhering to a neutral and objective approach, STRATEGIECS aspires to become one of the leading and influential research centers in the Middle East and North Africa by providing readings and analyzes from different viewpoints on issues of global concern; contributing to a better common understanding for all influential and affected parties in these issues; promoting the concepts of modern diplomacy; helping to understand and analyze the dynamics of international relations; and building a knowledge and analytical bridge between the region and the capitals of global influence and decision.

Mission

The center’s mission is to develop research, studies and strategies on public policies, foreign affairs, security and economic issues; to improve decision-making processes by transforming ideas into practical outputs and projects based on correct and systematic policies; and to help achieve the Middle East’s developmental, political and economic goals by providing a practical decision-making system based on strategic thinking and planning.

Core Values

STRATEGIECS core values stem from its vision and objectives. Each letter of its name refers to an English word that expresses the center's values, and each word has its equivalent in Arabic: strategy, thought, realism, evaluation, transparency, application, growth, insights, effectiveness, strength and commitment. The center offers analytical strategies based on realism, evaluates events with transparency and works to implement the most effective recommendations that stem from strong visions based on commitment.

STRATEGIECS’s eminent experts, scholars and specialists from various political, economic and security backgrounds concentrate on a wide variety of ideas and initiatives. Focusing on the highest priorities of national, regional and international issues, they collectively provide a full range of recommendations, advice and strategies.

The center offers studies, analytical papers and in-depth reports in various strategic fields, including politics, economics, technology, cybersecurity, environment, energy, military and security.

Assessments and analyses

The center keeps abreast of the rapid developments in the local, regional and international arena of political, security and economic affairs. The center’s group of experts, scholars and specialists monitor, review and interpret emerging phenomena in these areas and anticipates their future trends.

Response strategies 

The center works on developing response strategies for many geopolitical, economic and security issues by studying the trends of global and regional events and international relations in the region. It tracks their intertwining interactions and evaluates the geopolitical shifts resulting from them. It also focuses on specialized economic studies, identifies and evaluates available investment opportunities, and works on studies related to the developmental aspect in Arab societies. 

Risk Management

In today’s world of countries, companies and organizations facing increasingly complex challenges, risk management falls within the center’s main tasks, including monitoring high-impact and potential risks to the geopolitical, security, economic and social environments; identifying their associated contexts and priorities for response; and supporting proactive decision-making mechanisms based on a clear strategic vision.
