The Arab World today is undergoing rapid changes at all political, economic, and social levels, naturally leading to a further complication of the challenges facing decision makers in developing right policies, and making the perception and response to which require new intellectual outlets and in-depth reading of reality, the matter which calls for work to improve the Arab research system.
Think tanks give decision makers solutions, strategies and alternatives to meet challenges, provide timely and needed information, and help improve public policies, achieve development, activate support and respond to changing requirements. Today, the Arab world is in increasing need of think tanks similar to those of developed countries with their outstanding roles and direct contributions to policy-guidance and decision-making.
There are research competencies in the Arab world who match, and even surpass, those of the developed world, as they are more familiar with Arab issues with their cultural dimensions, historical contexts and internal and external interactions. However, these competencies have not received the necessary care and attention to overcome research challenges; such as inability to finance, limited resources and lack of independence.
In recognition of all this along with the important and influential role of Arab think tanks and research staff, STRATEGIECS Think Tank was established in Amman in 2018, under the direct guidance and supervision of the entrepreneur Hasan Ismaik, with the aim of providing analytical and forward-looking research papers to those interested, based on the objective, impartial and independent views of specialists in political and economic affairs, for the sake of understanding challenges and opportunities then reaching viable strategic insights, solutions and recommendations.
STRATEGIECS is known for its quick response – due to its analyses that keep pace with current events - in a relatively unstable environment, making it able to comprehensively understand the strategic depth of the region.
STRATEGIECS also seeks to support the academic research movement in the Arab region through the exchange of knowledge and research experiences with other think tanks and the strengthening of frameworks for joint research cooperation. We hope, through these efforts and endeavors, to enhance stability in the world and in the region, in a way that proves Arab research centers are reliable and trustworthy, thus receiving more attention by the concerned authorities.
