The STRATEGIECS Institute's analysis and research coverage of the war in Gaza
The Strategiecs Institute (SI) has been monitoring the war in the Gaza Strip since its outbreak, covering its various developments and transformations, both on the ground and politically. In the nine months since the war began last October, specifically between October 12, 2023, and July 14, 2024, the institute published 32 research reports.
These included 20 position estimation papers that tracked events as they happened, whether in the main war or in secondary escalation areas such as Lebanon, Houthi-controlled regions in Yemen, as well as Iraq, Syria, and Iran. Additionally, the institute published six political analyses unraveled the complexities surrounding the war and explained the stances of the parties and actors involved. Other SI publications highlighted specific events and positions, including five “Strategiecs Lens” papers and a survey of opinion leaders in Jordan.
Despite the significant ambiguity surrounding all aspects and developments of the war, the Strategiecs Institute's reports provided forward-looking insights and accurate projections, offering clarity and perspective to numerous future events, policies, and interactions related to the war. The position papers included 40 scenarios and pathways, 15 of which happened on the ground, and 10 scenarios that were among the most likely and proved to be 100% accurate. Additionally, seven predictions contained in the policy analysis papers came true, including the probability since November 2023 that the secondary arenas of the war would become independent from the main arena in the Gaza Strip and that the Iranian-Israeli conflict would remain within the realm of covert wars. They also highlighted the reasons and indicators that predicted the failure of Biden's ceasefire plan and outlined the form of the Rafah military operation.
